"Sara, I heard you rejected another invitation again?"
"Yeah."
After becoming the mainstay performer of Soul, Sara would receive invitations from other troupes from time to time during the tour.
"Isn't this the third time that customer has come? To come three times means he is really obsessed with you. I don't think he was joking when he promised to make you the leader of the troupe. Don't you think it's a pity?"
Among the troupes poaching Sara are many well-known local troupes like this one, but Sara has politely declined all these sincere invitations.
"Your question makes me feel a little sad. Does Soul no longer need me?"
"Hahaha, I don't know where to look for another mainstay if you really do leave. I just think... you deserve a better stage. With your talent, Soul will just be one stop in your life. If you're willing..."
"A better stage, huh..." Sara pulls out the card she received earlier and murmurs with a wry smile, "I'm not so sure about that."
The best might not be the most suitable.
"Nyaa." Quiet meowing interrupts their conversation. Sara looks down and sees that a small black ball of fur has made its way under her feet without her realizing it. Little Miaow had returned.
This pet cat called Little Miaow would not leave the troupe ever since it was given a meal by a member not long ago. It's probably a little awkward to call it a pet cat because it still has its wild nature and often wanders around outside its home. Even Ciri, who is the most familiar with the habits of animals in the troupe, can't figure out where it goes.
Seeing Little Miaow pace back and forth between her feet a few times, Sara plans to rub it. But just as she squats down, the little black cat turns its head and swaggers off.
It seems like it had only come to tell Sara it had returned and had no intention to express its goodwill.
"Hahaha, this kitty is as unwilling to get close to people as usual."
"Hehe, but don't you think that's quite cute?"
Sara thinks it's because it is always so aloof that she can't help but want to pay attention to it.
"It's better for cats to have more of a wild nature."
After adopting Little Miaow, Sara once visited a friend to ask them for advice on how to take care of a cat, and met her friend's pet cat in their house.
It was obvious that the plump cat was well cared for, and her well-groomed white fur hung off its body like a tutu. The cat was cute indeed, but she lacked energy and nestled lazily in her seat like a lady all day long.
The weather was great that day, and seeing the kitten stare out the window the whole time, Sara asked if she could take it outside for a walk. Her friend smiled and waved to express that the cat was very timid and would always look like she is trembling when she is taken out.
"She tore my clothes when she scratched me after I took her out before. She is very sensitive to everything outside and won't get out of my arms at all."
Sara sighed in her heart as she looked at the kitten who was rubbing herself against her to beg for snacks coquettishly. She thought: If this little kitten leaves her comfort zone, would she still remember how to sharpen her claws and teeth, or would she be filled with confusion?
She naturally knew she was worrying about something that would never happen. Her friend was a very responsible person who would never leave their pet alone.
An easy life certainly has its allure.
The troupes who came to poach her all promised her great deals. Sara also knew that it would be easier for her to achieve greater things with the publicity they could offer her.
However, these stages are too comfortable for her liking. She isn't sure if she will start to slack off if she gets used to this comfort, let alone whether she will be able to dance freely outside after leaving her current troupe.
"Perhaps Soul really is just a stop in my life as you say, but those invitations... I can't see them as my destination at this point in time."
Sara's life isn't easy as a member of Soul, but it's because of this that she feels she can do her best on every stage. Every performance she devotes herself to is so she can perform on the next stage...
She dances to survive.
It's better for cats to have more of a wild nature.
The same applies to dancers.
