"Argh... So you want this child, Haruna, to repair the roof of your home?" "O-Oh! That's why they've been meowing at me?! You're amazing, Miss Witch!" In the park, while wracking her head to figure out what a clowder of stray cats wanted, Haruna was fortunate enough to run into Yuzu, who was out on a w alk with her red pandas. The passionate Witch of Justice agreed to act as a temporary cat translator for Haruna. "You want dried fish? And some cat food... Argh? An endless supply of cat treats too? Hey! Don't get too greedy..." "Mm-hm, no problem! I'll come visit with snacks every day, like always!" "Well... That isn't all. They also want a bunch of toys... They're really way too demanding!" "It's alright, Miss Witch. If we consider their age, they should be middle-aged cats by now. They're seniors I should take care of." Haruna confidently pats her chest and starts comforting Yuzu, who is feeling indignant about it all. "I'll take care of everything!" Yuzu looks at Haruna in surprise. Not only does Haruna have no complaints whatsoever, but she has already fetched a bunch of materials for the repairs and begun renovating the cat home. The cats, meanwhile, scampered off to play elsewhere, and time trickled by. "Woohoo! Haruna's Cat Base is complete!" Finally, Haruna gazes upon everything before her with satisfaction – the renovated cat house, a pile of cat food, carefully prepared cat toys, and a scratching post for the kittens. "Thanks for the help, Miss Witch! Let's wait for the cats to return and see how they like it!" Haruna joyfully pulls Yuzu along to wait for the cats. Though drenched in sweat, Haruna is still so full of joy. The sight of this finally piques Yuzu's curiosity, and she asks the question that has been on her mind for quite some time. "Haruna, why are you going out of your way for them? Are you really going to do whatever they tell you to?" "Miss Witch! Have you seen that super amazing anime? You know, the one that's been airing on TV every day!" Haruna does not answer the question directly. Noticing the bewilderment on Yuzu's face, Haruna explains excitedly, "There's an amazing lady in it. And she always says this thing whenever she helps her crew out of a tough situation – heh, just doing my job as the boss. Isn't that cool?!" "Argh, it's cool and all... But what does that have anything to do with the cats?" "Well well, I bet you haven't noticed, but I'm the boss of these cats in the park! That's why I must learn from my role model and be able to 'fittingly' say those words to them!" Haruna clenches her little fists, and the determination in her voice makes the red pandas around Yuzu perk up their ears. "Argh... Do you mean 'rightfully'?" "I guess! Anyway, being a good boss is an amazing accomplishment!" "Nyaa?" Speak of cats, and they shall appear. They emerge from the bushes and look around their newly renovated home. Then, as Haruna waits with bated breath, they approach her and start rubbing themselves against her while meowing. "Hehe! I understand this one! They love my work! Right, Miss Witch?" "That's right... They think you're amazing... They..." Yuzu swallows the rest because Haruna has already cleared her throat and is about to loudly imitate the boss lady's line from that anime. Watching the proud look on Haruna's face, Yuzu quietly picks up her red pandas and steps aside. "They think you're a competent lackey now." Argh, I probably should keep the cruel truth to myself for now. |
