There are no performances scheduled at Floating Dreams today, so I have time to spare. If you happen to be free right now, would you like to join me for a walk?

Previously, Yuqing and I made a name for ourselves in the opera world with our rendition of "Borrowing an Umbrella at West Lake." What's a shame is that, to this day, I still haven't fully grasped the quintessence of the characters' feelings. The afterglow reflected on the lake, the heart-wrenching moment on Broken Bridge... I might capture their form, but never their true spirit.
Floating Dreams, floating dreams, life is like a dream. My father always said that only on that dreamlike stage can one find true fulfillment. Whether it's the dead of winter or the height of summer, the troupe always works tirelessly day in and day out... Sometimes I wonder if I'm too hard on them... You came all the way to Floating Dreams, and here I go complaining to you. But... for some reason, the words just pour out when I'm near you, like... like I'm being a little clingy.
You want to try doing my makeup? Whether it's drawing eyebrows, fitting wigs, or applying ornaments, I usually handle the costumes and makeup for Floating Dreams myself. Letting someone else do it for me would be... quite novel. And for some reason, the thought of you drawing on my eyebrows is surprisingly exciting. It's almost as if... I'm starting to understand the feelings of the characters in the opera a bit more. Does this count as a kind of "fulfillment"?
I've played the role of a wife in many operas, but outside of the theater... I wonder what real couples are like.
