- Hi there, I'm Mihoko Fukuji, the president of Kazekoshi Mahjong Club. I've heard about the shrine's training match from Hisa. Thanks for the invitation, I hope to learn something from you. Anyway, I've made some sandwiches and rice balls. If you don't mind, maybe we can have some together after the practice?
- Thank you for helping me bring in the water buckets. Don't mind me, just have a rest. Everybody should be here soon, so I'm going to tidy up the match room so that everyone can play with peace of mind when they arrive.
- Good to see you. You're early, as usual. Hisa should arrive soon, and I'll wait a little while for her here. I bet when she comes, she'll apologize for letting me wait again, but I actually enjoy waiting like this. Hehe... Ah, please don't tell her that. It'll be our little secret.
- You can type without looking at the keyboard? People who understand how to use computers are just so impressive... *Sigh* If I were an IT pro like you, I would be able to help everyone do research for the club. Right now I can only rely on the juniors of the club for that. It'd be nice to know how to use a computer...
- Sorry if I scared you. My tear gland is really sensitive, and even just a little touching moment would make me cry. The movie we watched was really great. I wanna watch it again when I'm home.
- Not only did Ms. Kitami accompany us throughout the training, but she also taught me to cook quite a few new dishes. She's such a sweet person. I really hope I can one day become someone as outstanding as her.
- Coach Kubo may be sharp-tongued, but after spending enough time with her, you'll realize that she's just not good at expressing her gentle side. She's always looking out for everyone in silence... And I believe the only reason she's being so strict is that she doesn't want us to shed tears of failure again and again. Therefore, I hope I can live up to her expectation with at least a victory in the individual tournament before graduating.
- Wow! This trick is so interesting. Can you teach me? Telling jokes is not my forte, so I want to learn some tricks that I can show off at any time. Maybe this trick can catch everyone by surprise during the next Mahjong Club gathering, hehe...
- Ain't little Haruna cute? She reminds me of Kana's sisters. Playing with such a spirited kid makes me feel energetic, too.
- "Blue sapphires and red rubies are made from the same element." ...Although we have become closer, Hisa has still yet to tell me the meaning behind this quote. Well, it's okay, though. We still have a long way ahead of us. I believe one day, she'll eventually give me an answer. And before that day comes, I'll keep pondering what it really means.
- It's a shame that I couldn't lead everyone to the end during my final year. But it's alright, Kana, Bundo, Yoshitome, Fukabori...Perhaps more talented players will join the Kazekoshi Mahjong Club in the future. I believe that as long as we don't give up, Kazekoshi High will one day earn its own glory.
- So this is a gift to repay the lunch boxes I prepared for you? Thank you. Here, have some rabbit-shaped apple slices. They are treats for well-mannered kids, hehe...
- Are... Are you sure? Such a precious gift should be gifted to someone important, like your mother maybe... Alright. Since you insist, I'll take it. Thanks, and do not bring any food with you tomorrow. Let me prepare something delicious for you as a return present.
- Something similar to playing Mahjong... Cooking, maybe? You utilize the ingredients given, spend effort and time to bring out the best of it, then observe the reaction of others. If you think it like that, aren't they both quite similar and interesting?
- Helping your opponent become stronger isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just think about it, everyone gathers up to explore strategies, challenge each other, and gradually grow better. This is what makes Mahjong fun. Not to mention that a match is only fun when you have formidable opponents to play with. And I believe I'm not the only one who thinks this, most Mahjong lovers do, too.
- Superpowers? That's an overstatement. To be honest, there's nothing special with my right eye. I'm just more focused when I open it, which allows me to observe other players' movements more clearly. Everyone can do it if they are willing to meticulously observe their opponents. And at least as far as I know: Senriyama's captain has a knack for reading people, too. They say she can even sense other people's body temperature changes.
- Instead of being gentle, I wish I could be tougher... If it was Hisa, I'm sure she would put on a smiling face and comfort Kana and the others when they lost. I hope that one day I can let go of my weak side and become someone who people can really rely on.
- To be honest, I'm pretty envious of the juniors. The last time we were about to join the national tournament, our seniors were so strict with us that we were overwhelmed by stress during our debut... Winning might be important, but it is not everything. As Hisa put it, we should enjoy every match and our youth.
- What's the rush? There's still plenty of time before the meet-up. Hisa just texted me, saying that she had just arrived, too, so we can still take our time. Well, usually it was always me waiting for her, but it seems that we've switched roles today... It actually feels surprisingly great to let someone wait!
- Happy New Year! Here's your New Year's money... Hehe, there's nothing to be shy about. After all, it's all about good omens. I hope everything will go well and we'll be in good health this year. Let's continue to look after each other in this new year.
- Here's a Valentine's Day chocolate. Please take it. I hope it won't bother you too much because Hisa once said there's nothing better than receiving chocolate from the person you like on Valentine's Day... I wonder what her expression will be when she receives my chocolate. Hehe...
